Andy Warhol in Minneapolis

Next week, one of the coolest events Minneapolis will see is coming to Aria and our sister company, Brand-Architects, is so honored to be helping spread the word. Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, is bringing the first U.S.-based Private Sales Exhibition for Andy Warhol to Aria March 16-23 from 10am - 6pm. The exhibition, entitled Andy Warhol at Christie’s, is planned as a multi-year, multi-platform partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. In accordance with Andy Warhol’s will, the foundation’s mission is the advancement of the visual arts and the support of the creation, presentation and documentation of contemporary visual arts, particularly work that is experimental, under-recognized or challenging in nature. The week-long selling exhibition will make available to the public a curated group of more than 50 paintings with the proceeds of any art sold going to the foundation. The works include photographs, prints and works on paper that the Pop Art superstar originally featured in his 1974 show in Minneapolis.

In fact, there is a Twin Cities connection woven throughout the event. Peter Remes, owner of ARIA, grew up in St. Paul, multiple Christie’s employees in NYC are from the Twin Cities, and art collector Gordon Locksley is featured in one of Warhol’s portraits.

So many reasons not to miss this event! Here are the details:
