It’s no secret that the Style-Architects team loves coming to work everyday and doing what we do best, but a space isn’t conducive to creativity unless it’s styled to the “T”. The same goes for your desk. If you ask Prop Stylist, Judith Kostroski, your desk should define your personal style and create that a sense of inner “Zen” at work. Here, she shares her bits of inspiration to help you achieve that perfectly styled office space. Step 1: Keep your desk simple. Your office/desk is a place where plenty of stress occurs {but also where great ideas are formed!}. It’s important to create a clutter and chaos-free calming atmosphere. It’s easy to let the mess of papers pile up, so I recommend starting the day off with a clean slate by filing and organizing the not-so-important things. These Russell + Hazel signature binders are perfect for de-cluttering!
Step 2: Incorporate items that are both functional and aesthetically beautiful {after all, we all know how much time we spend at our desks, so why not make it stylish?} I love this acrylic business card holder and jotter set and tray from Russell + Hazel. I also recommend making your desk a happy place by infusing some decorative items that add a touch of life {literally} to your desk such as a great smelling candle or a succulent from the one and only, Spruce Flowers and Home. Make your desk your own by investing in a cute monogrammed mug from Anthropologie.
Step 3: Treat your office space as a whole by keeping your surrounding space {like a bookshelf or dresser} simple and cohesively styled. Add items that add a little pep to your step such as a fun print from Society 6 or your favorite coffee table books. A tip when looking for coffee table books: they don’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. Check out second hand bookstores for your favorite reads {with a vintage flair}!
Lastly, when it comes to your workspace, creating an environment that keeps you calm and inspired is key. At S-A, we are firm believers that a good workplace makes for a great, productive workday!
