This Holiday season, whether you’re hosting four or 14 people, Style-Architects has you covered, thanks to prop styling guru, Anna Furrer. This year, she recommends taking a more modern and non-literal approach to your holiday tablescape by shying away from the traditional deep reds, metallic balls and garland and incorporating neutrals, texture, pattern and hints of sheen. Here, Anna shares fun product + styling ideas for a uniquely chic Holiday tablescape {that will be sure to leave your guests impressed}! Floral Facts: As we are moving deeper into winter, I always fall more in love with winter floral. Some of my favorites among many are pussy willows, green/white kale, white roses, anemone, and dusty miller. Each of these go great alone or in an arrangement and add a bit of life {pun intended} to your table!
Center of Attention: Centerpiece rule of thumb - you always want to be able to have a conversation with the person across from you {so don’t blind your guests}! Be sure your centerpiece isn’t obstructing the view by keeping it light and airy with sprigs of floral. Also, be sure to mix in a few statements pieces. {Psst stylist secret: these Pottery Barn candles are tried and true. I never worry about the wax spilling over!}
Fresh Linens: I usually gravitate more towards table runners/cloths over place mats. I especially love this one from Anthro. It has great texture {of course} and warm but neutral coloring. These napkins showcase a great updated herringbone pattern and add a little playfulness. Also be sure to check out the Foundry’s handy table brush - perfect for sweeping away those bothersome crumbs in-between dinner and dessert {my pet peeve}!
Full Plate: You can never go wrong with white on white dinnerware. Keep it interesting by mixing and matching formal pieces with casual pieces.
Feed Your Face: Debatably the most used item at the table. This rose gold flatware is a great metallic accent against all the white pieces.
Drink Up: Get complementary with this vintage inspired glassware. The subtle herringbone pattern on this wine glass ties in perfectly with the napkins adjacent. The baroque finial on the tumbler is a great tie-in with the dinnerware. They also aren’t fighting with each other for attention.
Runneth Over: I’m a sucker for stoneware. It’s so soft to the touch and this pitcher is a beautiful classic. And it’s white, need I say more?
On the Menu: Menu and place cards can be such a unique touch. They are a great opportunity to brand your dinner party or even carry over the theme of your invitations. These are so simple and elegant. And, if you’re feeling especially crafty try out these rosemary wreaths {don’t forget to add a touch of velvet}.
Shake It Up: The holidays always remind me of my family - especially my grandfather’s great sense of humor. He’s always telling his latest story while shaking out half the contents of the S+P. I’ll be dressing up our table with these sleek numbers.
