Cabin time is magic time – a land where that book I’ve been meaning to read quickly consumes an entire afternoon, my husband and I have the time {and patience} to carefully prepare a delicious home cooked meal and any electronic device that begins with an “i” is switched to off. Really, time lacks much meaning at all. Mornings are spent sleeping in, sipping coffee on the porch and taking walks around the lake. And evenings are spent either around a bonfire or in long conversation at the end of the dock. Packing for such weekends up north is a 10-minute piece of cake, since comfy clothes are the expected attire and there is zero shame in wearing the same thing twice! My list of cabin must-haves includes:
Cabin {cute} top: Your “go-to” top. It’s that perfect tee for lounging by the lake or taking a nap on the porch.
Loungewear: Let’s be honest, what we wear to bed usually stays on until noon – think, super soft cotton. So why not make sure it is lovely? Your hubby will thank you too.
Baseball Cap: Because sometimes, taking the time to do your hair just isn’t in the cards. So, tame the tresses in an easy low knot with a cute cap that also protects your precious skin from the sun.
Weekender bag from Roe Wolfe: Chic but versatile – this no-fuss tote is the perfect size to fit your minimalist weekend cabin style.
Books/Magazines:“Grace: A Memoir,” by Grace Coddington. Absolutely beautiful book about a truly remarkable woman.
Intelligent Nutrients lipgloss {in Pink Hibiscus}: Cabin weekends are cleansing weekends, free of whatever harsh chemicals might be part of your normal make-up routine. This yummy natural lip color is the perfect low-key choice.
Chunky Sweater: This adorable navajo cardi works perfect with my growing pregnancy belly! Pair it with leggings as you sit by the fire, or throw it over a swimsuit as you walk to the beach.
Aviator from MP3: A classic staple. Enough said.
