If taking fashion risks and being true to yourself is your kind of style, Meggan Morehead is your girl. Meet the mind behind Trying to Make Fetch Happen, a fashion/lifestyle blog that is always up to date with the latest trends. I have had the honor of knowing Meggan since childhood and can honestly say that her creative + entrepreneurial mindset is one that is truly inspirational. Living in Chicago, she has not only sustained a great blog, maintained a successful position as a merchandiser for Chloe+Isabel jewelry but just recently has begun her newest endeavor shifting her career focus to a collaboration with her close (and chic) friend Brooke who is located in Orange County California. Together, they have connected the fashion trends of the West Coast and Midwest by co-founding Somewhere Lately. Needless to say, saying that this girl lives and breathes fashion and trend setting would be an understatement. Without further ado, it’s time to get to know Meggan… How would you describe your personal style? I would say I’m a bit of a chameleon with style, it’s always changing, but always unique. I focus on simplicity and use accessories, bold lipsticks, and different textures/fabrics to liven it up. Right now I'm really digging the tomboy look...jerseys, boyfriend shorts and muscle tanks have been my go to!
What are your 5 go-to products? I cant live without nude lipstick (Mac - Pure Zen is my fav), oil absorbing sheets, moroccan oil, concealer and coconut oil. Coconut oil has so many benefits and is inexpensive! I use it as lotion, shaving cream, lip balm, makeup remover and conditioner for my hair! Its seriously amazing...you can use it to cook as well:)
How do you spend your Saturdays? If I'm not working, I'm sitting on a patio somewhere in the city getting drinks and food with my girlfriends!
What is your favorite fashion trend this season? There's so many to pick from! First, I love that tie dye is making a comeback! I love anything that's casual chic. For fall I'm loving military inspired looks, animal print and mixing leathers! Like many fashionistas, I cannot wait for fall!
How do you get inspiration for your blog(s)? Everything inspires me! Instagram, Pinterest, blogs, friends, Chicago street style...I take pictures of everything/everyone that inspires me and save the pictures in a folder in my phone. I also have a stack of magazines in my room that I go through them and clip out patterns, styles, and whatever inspires me and paste them in a notebook - its the old school version of Pinterest! I could stay up for hours doing this!
